Clark, have published new dates on the world's earliest shell beads.  The beads, found in Bizmoune Cave in Morocco, date to at least 142,000 years ago.  Beads are an indicator of the kinds of symbolic behavior that is associated with our earliest Homo sapiens ancestors.  Read the results in Science Advances.
