Ryo Morimoto Appointed to Editorial Collective of Cultural Anthropology
Harvard Anthropology Assistant Professor Ryo Morimoto has begun a new role as an Editorial Collective Member (2026–2030) of Cultural Anthropology, the peer-reviewed journal of the Society for Cultural Anthropology, a section of the American Anthropological Association.
Established in 1986, Cultural Anthropology publishes four issues per year and is widely recognized for ethnographic scholarship that engages a broad range of theoretical perspectives and innovative forms of writing. The journal features work on both traditional and emerging topics in anthropology, and also welcomes essays focused on ethnographic methods, research design in historical perspective, and approaches that bring cultural analysis into conversation with broader public audiences.
The Editorial Collective plays a central role in shaping the journal’s intellectual direction and editorial vision. Ryo Morimoto's appointment reflects their ongoing contributions to anthropological scholarship and engagement with contemporary debates in the field.
