Recent news from Greece | Harvard Anthropology Emeritus Michael Herzfeld & Associate Myriam Lamrani

Michael Herzfeld, Ernest E. Monrad Professor of the Social Sciences Emeritus, and Myriam Lamrani, Associate Researcher, both in the Department of Anthropology, Harvard University, were interviewed together on Greek television on 15 February on the subject of “identity.” The discussion, directed by journalist Makis Provatas, is in Greek. Herzfeld’s work, much of which has been published in Greek, was also the subject of a special presentation in Athens on 13 February. The event was organized by the publisher Alexandria Publications, and involving several invited speakers and a response by Herzfeld. The occasion also marked the publication of the Greek edition of his Portrait of a Greek Imagination, originally published in English by the University of Chicago Press in 1997, and the impending publication of a Greek edition of his Subversive Archaism (Duke University Press, 2022).
