Biography

Abdulgaleel Ahmed, PhD,  is an Assistant Professor in Linguistics and Phonetics. He has a Postgraduate Diploma in Translation as well. He also has CELTA Certificate in Teaching English Language to Speakers of Other Languages, Cambridge Assessment English, University of Cambridge. He worked at Columbia University Global Center as a research scholar. He was awarded Andrew W. Mellon Fellowship in the humanities. Approached from an anthropological perspective, his current research focuses on issues associated with language and society, as well as the relevance of language ideologies and society role among bilingual speakers in general and Arabic- speaking communities in the diaspora. His research interest areas include, Theoretic Linguistics, Contrastive Linguistics English-Arabic, Linguistic Anthropology, Arabic Language & Identity, Syntax & interfaces, and TESOL.
