DESCRIPTION:<p style="text-align: center;">	<drupal-media data-entity-type="media" data-entity-uuid="3f2bc961-acb7-499a-af30-8845a555e0d9" data-view-mode="hwp_large"></drupal-media></p><p>	<u>ABSTRACT:</u>     This talk will explore various approaches to outreach and collaboration for archaeology. I will discuss working with the media, using social media, and building public participation into archaeological field programs. I draw on examples from my museum work as well as the Magic Mountain Community Archaeology Project and Astor House Community Archaeology Project, both in Golden, Colorado, a collaborative research program involving Zuni elders in the Reserve region of New Mexico, and recent work I did in France looking for a pilot with the Depart of Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency.</p><p style="text-align: center;">	<drupal-media data-entity-type="media" data-entity-uuid="91d7cafd-30cc-4be1-8ff6-c522fedc8ec1" data-view-mode="hwp_large"></drupal-media></p><p>	<strong>Dr. Michele Koons </strong>is Curator of Archaeology at the Denver Museum of Nature &amp; Science. As an archaeologist she studies ancient complex societies and is especially interested in political dynamics and social networks. Michele has a passion for archaeology that involves local communities and has conducted research throughout the United States, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, China and France.
