Margaret Irving '17 wrote an article for The Canadian Encyclopedia about the four Canadian rowers who won the World Rowing Championship at the 1867 Paris International Exposition in Paris, France.
"During my internship with Historica Canada, Canada’s largest independent organization for national history, I was honoured to receive the opportunity to write an article for The Canadian Encyclopedia. The Encyclopedia contains close to 20,000 bilingual articles on a variety of topics, including history, politics, geography, and distinguished individuals. I wrote about the rowing team that won the world championships days after Canada became a country in 1867. This team launched from the same river where I learned to row! I enjoyed learning about the research and publication process, and am particularly excited to share the story of a victorious team from my hometown."
